REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum ABET qualification
  • No prior work experience required
  • Ability to communicate verbally in English
  • Basic literacy & numeracy
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety
  • Knowledge of gardening & maintenance equipment
  • Ability to operate cleaning/gardening machines
  • Ability to work in a team or individually
  • Ability to perform routine tasks, organise and prioritise work

DUTIES

  • Cultivate garden areas; plant trees, flowers, shrubs
  • Prepare soil for planting
  • Maintain flower beds (fertilize, irrigate, weed, prune)
  • Mow lawns and cut edges
  • Load/unload gardening materials and equipment
  • Irrigate lawns and prune trees
  • Remove refuse, load onto trucks for disposal/burning
  • Maintain neatness of unit areas
  • Maintain structures (parking areas, sports grounds, ditches, gutters)
  • Clean and chemically treat swimming pools
  • Maintain fences
  • Assist with grounds prep before/after events
  • Measure and apply poison/fertilizer
  • Operate and maintain gardening machinery; report faults
  • Ensure adherence to safety precautions
