FITTER X1 (GRADING C2)

Qualifying Criteria:

Grade 11 or equivalent qualification
Recognised Trade Certificate as a Fitter (Section 13 or Section 26D).
Minimum 3 years’ post-apprenticeship experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
Experience working in a conventional underground mining operation.
Sound knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Basic welding skills and pipe fitting experience.
Exposure to planned maintenance systems
Must be willing to work shifts and overtime as required.
Must have a valid driver’s license
South African Citizenship
Clear Criminal Record

Responsibilities:

A brief outline of duties will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

Candidate must be self-driven and disciplined
Perform maintenance, repairs, and installations on mining equipment, including pumps, conveyors, crushers, winches, and other mechanical systems.
Conduct inspections and fault-finding on equipment in both surface and underground operations.
Ensure all work is completed following health, safety, and environmental standards.
Maintain accurate records of completed tasks, parts used, and safety checks.
Participate in planned maintenance shutdowns and respond to emergency breakdowns.
Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to minimise downtime and improve efficiency.
Perform all Health and Safety-related duties in general on the Mine as per Gold One Group Limited standards

Job Description

ASSISTANT : RIGGING X3 (GRADING A)

ASSISTANT: PUMPING X9 (GRADING A)

Qualifying Criteria :

Grade 11 or equivalent qualification
2-3 years’ experience in Engineering in a mining or industrialized environment is essential and required
Knowledge of mobile crane hand signalling
Good knowledge of all rigging / lifting equipment
Good knowledge of SWL tags and name plates
Ability to work flexible hours and perform standby duties including Sundays and Public Holidays
Ability to perform physical activities (equipment and material loading and offloading unassisted, bend, climb etc.)
South African Citizenship

Responsibilities :

Provide efficient support within Engineering rigging Section
Assist in attaching loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools
Assist the rigger in slinging, tie down, low balancing and hand signals to mobile crane operator
Assist in ensuring that all lifting tackle is up to standard by visually inspecting chain links, slings and safety catches
Assist in erecting, set up, and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools
Ensure that all mechanical lifting equipment such as chain blocks and coffin hoists are lubricated and ready for usage
Ensure SWL tags and name plates are visible on all lifting equipment
Adhere to company standards, policies and procedures
Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1’s safety motto : “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely”
