About the Role:
Absa is looking for a highly skilled Personal Assistant to support senior management with secretarial and administrative tasks. This role involves acting as the first point of contact, maintaining confidentiality, and managing both internal and external communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage manager’s calendar, schedule meetings, and track attendance
- Liaise for meeting rescheduling and handle logistics (documents, meeting packs)
- Arrange domestic/international travel and follow the approval process
- Attend and minute meetings; distribute minutes to relevant stakeholders
- Facilitate onboarding of new staff and arrange stakeholder introduction sessions
- Organise venues, catering, and teleconference logistics
- Screen emails and calls; prioritize and redirect queries appropriately
- Maintain email and physical filing systems
- Assist with typing, scanning, binding, and document formatting (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Manage stationery, groceries, and printer supplies
- Enforce company policies related to travel, expenses, and procurement
- Handle asset retrieval (e.g. laptops, phones) from departing staff
- Process supplier orders, match invoices, and follow up on payments
- Monitor departmental expenses and credit card reconciliations
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 / NQF Level 4
- Preferred Qualification: Personal Assistant or Secretarial Diploma
- Experience: 1–2 years in a secretarial/admin support role
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Fast and accurate typing speed (40–60 wpm)
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office, email, internet)
- Strong attention to detail and quality focus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of initiative and ability to work independently
- Good organisational and multitasking abilities
