KARAN BEEF Farming (PTY) LTD has the following vacancy at our Albert Falls Abattoir: Boiler Operator.

The overall purpose of a boiler operator position is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of boilers that are used to generate steam for the production processes.

Boiler operators are responsible for maintaining and inspecting boilers, as well as monitoring boiler operations to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Qualified boiler operator (Certificates required)
  • No criminal record.
  • Ability to converse in English.
  • Prepared to work overtime and nightshifts
  • Own reliable transport is essential due to the required nightshift hours (No transport will be provided)
  • Preference will be given to candidates who reside in the Cramond / Albert Falls region or who are willing to relocate to Cramond / Albert Falls.
  • Must have previous experience and a good understanding of boilers

Key areas of responsibility will include, inter alia:

  • Operating a 4 Ton boiler.
  • Ensuring there is always adequate steam for production.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the boilers.
  • Keep all boilers clean and well maintained
  • Adjust setting to maintain proper pressure, temperature and water levels.
  • Record operating data such as coal consumption, pressure and temperatures.
