About the Role

Glencore is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and motivated young professional to join the Global HR & Payroll Services team (HR Hub) in Johannesburg.
This entry-level role offers exposure to international HR operations, best practices, and the opportunity to contribute to impactful employee experiences across multiple Glencore offices worldwide.

You’ll work in a shared service centre environment, supporting key HR processes, employee lifecycle activities, and maintaining accurate employee records in Workday.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare employment contracts, amendments, termination agreements, and related HR documentation.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding activities:
    • Onboarding: Initiate hire process in Workday, schedule induction, support IT & logistics.
    • Offboarding: Process terminations, documentation, and access revocation.
    • Intercompany transfers: Support both onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain accurate Workday records and employee digital files.
  • Respond to employee and manager queries via HR service channels.
  • Deliver HR documentation in line with SLAs.
  • Run and validate Workday reports (monthly/quarterly).
  • Ensure compliance with global standards and local labour laws.
  • Support implementation of global HR processes, policies, and initiatives.
  • Propose and support improvements to Workday and HR processes for efficiency.

Desired Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor of Commerce in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience: Entry-level (0–3 years).
  • Skills: Strong MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, etc.), organizational skills, customer-focused mindset.
