The following represent the main duties expected of a Rework Artisan as described in the Rework Coaching Instrument:
- Check that defect is captured in IPSQ and check that all information is correct (cost centre, defect type, place etc.)
- Reservation of the vehicle on F1/F2 system prior to rework commencing.
- Diagnosis of the root cause.
- Draw reworks instructions from dealer net (where necessary).
- Request spare parts – importantly by following the DS&R process.
- Perform the necessary reworks on the vehicle.
- Capture the retest function on IPSQ when required.
- Release the defect/rework in IPSQ, providing an accurate description of operations performed.
- Final testing including the release of the retest block on IPSQ.
- Where necessary perform the necessary rework hand over process when handing rework over to a colleague.
