Job Summary:


To provide advice and support in the operational management of deceased estates and maintain strong stakeholder relationships by executing tasks in line with Standard Operating Procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report deceased estates to the Master of the High Court
  • Place statutory advertisements and gather required stakeholder information
  • Draft liquidation and distribution accounts and reconciliation statements
  • Lodge accounts with the Master of the High Court
  • Manage property transfers through Absa panel attorneys
  • Finalize tax matters by submitting outstanding returns to SARS
  • Ensure progress updates to clients monthly
  • Achieve production targets and maintain service excellence
  • Build stakeholder relationships (valuators, attorneys, SARS, Master of the High Court, etc.)
  • Ensure legal compliance with the Estate Administration Act

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Estate and Trust / Deceased Estate Administration (Law Society of SA) or NQF Level 5+
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in deceased estate administration
  • Solid knowledge of:
    • Administration of Estates Act
    • Intestate Succession Act
    • Wills Act
    • Estate Duty Act (basic)
    • Income Tax Act (basic)
    • Financial Statements (basic)

Competencies:

  • Strong legal and regulatory knowledge
  • Excellent client service and communication
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in managing estate administration processes
