Description

The Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) is an independent statutory body established in terms of Chapter 9 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996. The CGE is committed to a society free from gender oppression and all forms of inequality. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following position:

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing strategic input and support on Human Resources Annual Performance Plan, budgets, and Human Resources and Transformation Strategy.
  • Assist in the development, review, and ensure implementation of Human Resources policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Advise management and staff on all Human Resources policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection activities.
  • Manage the conditions of service and service benefits.
  • Coordinate Performance Management, Job Evaluation, and Induction Programmes.
  • Coordinate the Employee Wellness Programme.
  • Coordinate, drive, and implement the Skills Development Programmes including staff bursaries.

Qualifications

Required Qualification and Training:

  • A National Diploma, Bachelors Degree or equivalent qualification in Human Resources Management.
  • Must be a South African.

Experience Required:

  • 5 years relevant work experience in Human Resources Generalist work.
  • Supervisory experience.

Required Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Knowledge and understanding of all applicable Human Resources legislation and prescripts, including but not limited to the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Employment Equity Act, Labour Relations Act, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel and HR SAGE.
  • Good presentation, policy analysis, and writing skills.
  • Communication skills at all levels (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Code B driver’s licence.
