Job Title: Provincial Demand Coordinator

The Provincial Demand Coordinator will report the Provincial Lead and will be responsible for coordinating demand creation plans for mobile clinics in the province.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, marketing or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Previous NGO/CBO/primary health care experience as a communicator or CHW.
  • At least 2-5 years of experience in communications in the health sector.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in creating press releases, media advisories, and other communications materials.
  • Experience in coordinating communication campaigns and team members.
  • Experience in event planning and execution.
  • Flexibility in working hours.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A passion for health care and a desire to make a positive impact in the world.
  • Knowledge of the South African health care industry and youth healthcare issues would be an advantage.
  • MS Office essential.
  • Ability to communicate in English plus another language is preferable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing supervision and support to the Keready communicators in your province with their day-to-day activities and planning.
  • Assisting with the recruitment and appointment of mobilisers.
  • Coordinating mobiliser onboarding days and ongoing training needs.
  • Assisting the data-capturer with the verification of data from the communicators and mobilisers.
  • Mentoring of communicators in best practices e.g., mobile set up, demand creation strategies, etc.
  • Keeping up to date with communicators weekly schedules and ensuring that all stakeholders are approached and assisted where needed
  • Facilitating open and healthy communication between communicators and Professional Nurses leading each unit.
  • Conducting, in conjunction with the Stakeholder Manager, Doctor and Provincial Lead, stakeholder mapping to identify local stakeholders and organizations to partner with.
  • Working with the radio specialist, doctors and the teams on the ground to coordinate the weekly liaison with community radio stations.
  • Building relationships with key influencers, community journalists and bloggers locally to secure media coverage for Keready.
  • Working with the teams to hold events to promote our services and engage with our target audience.
  • Monitoring media coverage and demand creation activities and reporting on these weekly to the comms team and provincial lead and doctor.
  • Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure consistency in messaging and branding.

Additional: The incumbent must be willing to support project related activities beyond the responsibilities highlighted above.

Please be advised:

  • This is a full-time fixed contract until 31 December 2023.
  • This role is based in the respective provincial offices daily and rove around mobile health clinics throughout various communities in the province as needs arise. 
  • Must be willing to work and travel within the respective provinces when required.
  • Preference will be given to local qualified and suitably experienced candidates.
