Minimum Required Qualification:

  • Level 4: Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) and National Cert level 4 Certificate GET Education, Training and Development

Key Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory assistance • Prepare samples for analysis following standard operating procedures • Operate applicable equipment effectively and safely to ensure accurate analysis • Perform fluxing of plant, mine samples and non-routine sample, Copper mapping and tray identifications and addition of Silver Nitrate • Particle size determination on plant samples and milled samples • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of furnaces to produce accurate results timeously Cupellation • Preparation of cupels before cupellation process • Loading and offloading of cupels from the muffle • Maintaining and controlling the exhaustion process for efficient and effective cupellation process. • Muffle maintenance and floor levelling Parting • Preparation of acids (dilute nitric acid) • Addition of acids – dilute and concentrated nitric acid solutions for parting process • Testing of deionised water • Picking and hammering of prills, washing the prills, drying and annealing of prills and re-inquartation SHE Compliance SHE Management: • Comply with SHE standards as per ISO45001 and ISO 14001 within the work environment. • Participate in risk assessments, incident investigate and take appropriate action as per identified risks. • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures. • Adhere to a culture of SHE leadership within the department. • Adhere to safety, health, and environment protection procedures in the Laboratory environment. Quality Management System (QMS): • Comply with requirements of the Quality Management System as per ISO 17025. Focus on safe production & operational excellence • Focus on safety and health as well as operational excellence. • Improve our position on global industry cost curve
