Minimum Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 and Blasting Certificate (Trackless experience is essential).
- 2–3 years’ mining experience.
- Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Medically fit to work in the specified area.
- Clear security screening record.
Key Responsibilities
1. SHE Supervision
- Maintain and monitor SHE standards.
- Ensure compliance within the work environment.
2. Risk and Task Management
- Participate in risk assessments and take corrective actions.
- Conduct task analyses and address risks.
3. Blasting Operations
- Mark, drill, charge, and conduct blasting activities.
- Manage team operations and ensure safe practices.
4. Workplace Safety
- Conduct statutory examinations and declare work areas safe.
- Install, monitor, and assess support systems (temporary, permanent, or secondary).
5. Team and Shift Management
- Prepare for start of day and shift.
- Monitor staffing and operational needs.
- Conduct end-of-shift handovers.
6. Development and Maintenance
- Supervise development and underground construction activities.
- Oversee ventilation and maintenance operations.
7. Reporting
- Update communication logs and miner’s logbooks with completed shift activities and issues.
