The Youth Empowerment Service Program is open to unemployed students and graduates. Applications are sent to the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA). The deadline for submissions is January 5, 2024.
A collaborative initiative called YES seeks to address and lower South Africa’s young unemployment rate. PSiRA aspires to be in line with the YES program’s objective of providing adolescents with access to economic opportunities by fostering an interest in the lives and accomplishments of young people. Qualified participants in the program will receive a 12-month work experience in addition to numerous learning opportunities.

Duration: 12 Months
KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Proficiency in computer usage, effective written and oral communication, inventiveness, eloquence, attentiveness, teamwork, resilience, and organizational abilities are essential. Must be able to prioritize others (Ubuntu), be responsible, professional, honest, ethical, and possess a strong sense of integrity.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA AND CONDITIONS:
- Candidates must be citizens of South Africa and be between the ages of 18 and 35.
- Candidates need to be ready to sign a contract with Youth Empowerment Program Service (YES) and PSiRA.
- Candidates who have already taken part in an internship program or a Youth Empowerment Program (YES) will not be accepted.
- studied in the aforementioned subject of study at a South African educational institution that has received accreditation.
- A thorough resume and certified copies of all certifications and identity documents should be sent with the application.
- On the application letter, candidates need to specify the field and area for which they are applying.
- If the necessary documents are not submitted, your application will not be taken into consideration.
- After the deadline, applications won’t be taken into consideration.
- Should you be in possession of a foreign qualification, it must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA). Please take note that all qualifications are subject to verification.
- Successful candidates will be appointed on a YES programme for a period of 12 months.
