Purpose of the Job

We are seeking reliable and enthusiastic Soup Truck Drivers to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for transporting soups to designated locations, ensuring safe and timely delivery, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Driving & Delivery

  • Operate the soup truck safely and efficiently.
  • Follow designated routes and schedules for timely deliveries.
  • Comply with food safety and transport regulations.

Customer Service

  • Engage positively with customers at delivery points.
  • Provide information about soups and handle inquiries professionally.

Truck Maintenance

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Perform basic maintenance and report vehicle issues promptly.

Inventory Management

  • Assist with loading and unloading supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies.

Safety Compliance

  • Obey all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines for food transport.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Grade 10 (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience as a driver or in food delivery preferred.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid Code 10 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Professional Driving Permit (PDP) will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • Driving Experience: 1–3 years preferred, ideally in food delivery/service.
  • Food Industry Experience: Previous exposure to catering, food service, or food truck operations highly desirable.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Safe Driving: Strong vehicle handling with a clean record.
  • Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Time Management: Ability to plan routes and stick to schedules.
  • Food Safety: Understanding of handling and transport requirements.
  • Math Skills: Ability to manage cash and inventory records.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve customer issues effectively.
  • Teamwork: Cooperative attitude with staff and management.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy items and stand for long periods.
  • Attention to Detail: Careful with delivery protocols and food quality.

Additional Information

  • Candidates must be willing to work on weekends when required.
  • Successful applicants will be placed in Alexandra, Protea Glen, or Mpumalanga.
