Necsa Learning Academy (NLA) invites unemployed youth to apply for the Apprenticeship Training Programme in the following Occupational Certificates/Trades:
Available Apprenticeships
1. OC: Metal Machinist (Turner)
A metal machinist is a skilled tradesperson who specializes in working with metals to create precision parts and instruments. They operate and maintain various machinery, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and advanced computer numerical control (CNC) equipment.
2. OC: Toolmaker
A toolmaker is a highly skilled engineer who specializes in creating precision tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes. They work with various materials, including metals and specialized alloys, to produce tools that help manufacture parts or products efficiently.
Necsa Learning Academy (NLA) is a nationally recognized and accredited skills development provider focused on professional and technical skills development.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following minimum academic qualifications:
- NQF Level 4 (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Science, OR
- N2-N6 with four subjects (including relevant trade theory), OR
- Technical Matric with Mathematics, Science, and relevant trade theory, OR
- NCV Level 3/4 Engineering Certificate with seven subjects (including relevant trade theory).
Additional Requirements:
- Technical knowledge.
- Ability to work in a team.
Successful candidates must pass screening protocols, including medical fitness tests, security clearance, qualification verification, and technical assessments.
Reference Numbers & Eligible Provinces
- Applicants must use the correct Reference Number in their applications. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
Note: Only applicants from these seven provinces will be considered: Eastern Cape, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, and North West.

- Proof of residence

Important Notes:
- Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Only South African citizens will be considered.
- Successful candidates will be appointed under Section 18.2 for a three-year contract.
- Selected candidates will receive both formal training and on-the-job training.
- People with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
- This opportunity is strictly for individuals who have not participated in a previous apprenticeship program.
