Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- ABET Level 4 or Grade 10
- Valid Code 10/14 Driver’s Licence with PDP
- An unendorsed driver’s licence
- Knowledge of surrounding hospitals and clinics
- Understanding of legislative prescripts governing the health sector
- Ability to work shifts
Note: Where a driver’s licence is mandatory, exceptions may be granted for persons with disabilities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Transport staff, patients, and official documents
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Report vehicle faults and damages within 24 hours
- Compile incident reports when required
- Maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness of vehicles
- Change a flat tyre when necessary
- Ensure safe and timeous transportation
- Comply with the Department of Transport Handbook
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
