Job Summary
To provide support in routine and non-routine specialized water and solids analysis, equipment preparation, and housekeeping in the laboratory.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma in Chemistry, Microbiology, or equivalent
- 2 years’ experience in a routine or research laboratory environment
- Valid Code 08 driver’s license
Primary Duties
- Collect and sample water and solids as per project schedule.
- Conduct sampling and basic analysis according to scheduled programmes.
- Ensure availability of deionised/distilled water in the laboratory.
- Perform routine and non-routine sampling and analysis on time.
- Clean and store laboratory glassware daily as per method requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the laboratory and chemical storeroom.
- Safely dispose of hazardous and toxic waste on time.
- Perform basic laboratory water and solids analysis using standard methods and equipment.
- Conduct routine logging and testing of water and solids samples.
- Comply with Rand Water’s SHEQ standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001).
