Introduction
Life Bay View Private Hospital has a vacancy for a Registered Nurse in the Surgical Unit. The role requires delivering holistic patient care and fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, in alignment with the hospital and company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cost & Resource Management
- Monitor and evaluate employee labour hours; manage debit and credit hours.
- Reduce stock wastage and ensure proper maintenance of equipment.
2. Quality Patient Care
- Ensure all staff undergo department-specific micro-orientation.
- Conduct daily care rounds and investigate patient complaints.
- Communicate accurate and relevant information to patients and their families during hospitalization.
3. Risk Management (SHEQ & Infection Control)
- Monitor and implement preventative measures to minimize risks.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards to support infection control initiatives.
4. Stakeholder Relationships
- Identify doctors’ preferences and stakeholder needs, and implement these within the working environment.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
- Current registration with SANC.
- Experience in Medical or Surgical Wards.
- Current registration with applicable professional/regulatory body.
- Knowledge of the private healthcare industry is advantageous.
- Computer literacy.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
