Safripol is seeking two Mechanical Fitters to carry out maintenance on equipment and machinery in the plant, ensuring consistent product quality, plant availability, and reliability. The role contributes to the organization’s effectiveness by maintaining mechanical equipment reliability.


Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma (N6) with National Trade Test – Mechanical Fitter.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong fault-finding skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Above-average knowledge of engineering practices and standards.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during urgent breakdowns.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review production logbook and consult with production on urgent issues.
  • Monitor machinery and equipment (levels, temperatures, flows, vibrations, noises).
  • Diagnose problems and perform necessary repairs.
  • Test machinery/equipment after repairs before handover to production.
  • Safely dismantle, replace, assemble, and repair machinery/equipment to ensure optimum plant availability.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns with fault-finding and quick resolution.
  • Perform lubrication tasks, monitor temperatures/vibrations, and record details.
  • Support planned maintenance by identifying equipment condition through sampling and monitoring.
  • Physically lubricate machinery with correct lubrication medium.
  • Observe water treatment conditions (colour, algae growth) and liaise with chemical agents.
  • Ensure lifting equipment is safe, functional, and correctly used during heavy load movements.
  • Maintain and update all documentation, including mechanical drawings and redline versions.
  • Keep special tools clean, maintained, and report damaged tools for repair/replacement.
  • Apply safe work practices, use correct PPE, and prevent leaks/spillages at all times.
