Job Advert Summary
The successful incumbent will ensure that allocated plant is maintained to a safe and reliable standard as required by Rand Water.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or completed N3 in Fitting and Turning
- 1 year relevant experience in fitting and turning
- Valid Code B driver’s license and ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 test
Primary Duties
Planned Maintenance
- Perform daily, monthly and annual scheduled maintenance tasks
- Investigate and repair breakdowns
- Work overtime when required
- Maintain work standards and ensure legal and safety compliance
- Plan tasks to ensure availability of materials, tools, assistants, transport and equipment
Coordination of Projects
- Determine and provide input on site requirements
- Conduct regular site inspections
- Attend site visits
Maintenance Planning System
- Report and analyse section performance data
- Participate in formal RCM programs
- Participate in RCA sessions
- Take part in shutdown planning
Knowledge
- Operation of field mechanical equipment
- Knowledge of OHS Act and its application
- Water purification and treatment processes
