  • Grade 12 Certificate (Matric)
  • Valid Forklift License
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience operating a forklift in an industrial or food processing environment.
  • Strong understanding of food safety protocols and forklift safety regulations.

  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in cold, noisy, and physically demanding environments
  • Strong awareness of food quality, hygiene, and health & safety practices

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a forklift to handle materials such as meat, spices, packaging, and other resources required for processing.
  • Adhere to safe heavy equipment lifting practices at all times.
  • Conduct pre-use inspections of the forklift and fill in the checklist before operation.
  • Offload materials from delivery trucks into designated areas within the processing plant.
  • Transport materials from storage areas to processing sections as needed.
  • Collect waste crates from the processing facility and transport them to the crate wash area for cleaning.
  • Remove waste cages from all plant areas and dispose of them in designated waste areas
  • Wash the forklift at the designated wash bay after each use to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure the forklift is fueled and perform basic maintenance tasks as required.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including manual handling and organization of materials.
