Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • No experience required
  • Valid driver’s licence with a valid PDP (at own expense)
  • Knowledge and understanding of customer care (Batho Pele Principles and the six ministerial priorities of Health)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, work shifts, and perform under pressure
  • Willingness to undergo driver pre-testing
  • Added Advantage: 2–5 years’ experience as a driver

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transport patients and staff to and from designated destinations as instructed by the Transport Manager
  • Ensure proper maintenance and roadworthiness of the vehicle
  • Safekeep transport documents, including log sheets and petrol slips, and report any damages to the Supervisor
  • Transport theatre and hospital staff attending emergency cases
  • Clean and sanitise the vehicle after use

Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and accompanied by an evaluation certificate.
